The Lorain County Law Library Association is a nonprofit corporation organized in 1889 under an 1872 Ohio law that provided for the establishment of county law libraries. It was formed “to acquire and maintain a library of books, periodicals and other papers and documents pertaining to and used in the practice and study of law and jurisprudence; and for the culture of the members of the association and to provide for the use of all county officers and judges of the several courts the use of its law books free of charge.”
